Method 5
Restore from a Full Disk Backup
If you have a full disk backup of your storage device, then you’re in luck because you can use it to recover all missing partitions.
Disk Drill is a good example of a software application that can quickly and easily create byte-to-byte full disk backups and recover from them later. To create a full disk backup with Disk Drill:
- Download and install Disk Drill.
- Launch Disk Drill and select the Drive Backup extra feature.
- Click the storage device you want to back up and click Byte-to-byte Backup.
- Name the backup file and choose where you want to save it.
- Click OK to confirm and wait for the backup file to be created.
To recover from a backup image, first, click the Attach disk image link below the list of available storage devices in the main Disk Drill window. Then, select the image and click Search for lost data. Finally, check the files you want to recover and click the Recover button.
